Mucilage is a complex mixture of polysaccharides extracted as a viscous or gelatinous fibre. Slippery Elm is considered a bulk laxative as the mucilage absorbs water. Ingredients & Excipients:

Each 1g contains: Slippery elm (Ulmus rubra) bark powder Prepared using premium powder 1 g No added gluten, wheat, yeast, animal products, lactose, milk derivatives, sugar, salt, artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

Dose & Administration:

Adults: For powder: mix one 5 ml teaspoonful of Blooms Slippery Elm Bark powder into a smooth paste in half a cup of cold water. Fill the cup with hot water, stirring continuously. Honey or a sprinkling of cinnamon may be added to taste. Blooms Slippery Elm powder should be taken one to three times daily or as directed.

Cautions/Contra-Indications:

Caution: Drink plenty of water. If symptoms persist consult your healthcare practitioner. If diarrhoea persists for more than 6 hours in infants under 6 months, 12 hours in children under 3 years, 24 hours in children aged 3-6 or 48 hours in adults and children over 6 years, seek medical advice.
